I am just trying to get better at running and be more consistent.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Run a marathon in 2011 and one day run Boston....I might have to wait until I'm in the 85 year old division to qualify but gosh darn it I will qualify!  

Personal:

 David and I have been married since 2003, we've lived in AZ, UT (BYU, Health Science), WI and now we're back to our roots in CO. We have a little boy, Grant, who was born in 2009. I have never been a runner but like to pretend I am! I'm currently teaching aerobics in my church group and working on becoming a certified Personal Trainer through NASM. 

I'm pretty much obsessed with Full House, DQ Blizzards and Bajio. Sadly I don't have enough of these in my life!

Ugh what a run! Oh how I hate wind!!! I was SSOOO tired and just sluggish. I had to keep stopping and had to walk parts of this run. I'm really hoping this was just a bad run and not a glimpse into how all of my runs will be.

Glad I got my miles in this morning--it's supposed to rain this afternoon. Aerobics (it was actually a really hard workout today) and some more free weights at home. I wasn't feeling it on my run today. I'm emotionally burned out with running....is that bad? Yes it is:)

Took Grant out tonight in the stroller. I'm just not feeling it this week. It's been so crazy windy lately! I'm supposed to do 10 miles tomorrow but a part of me just wants to skip this run and stretch the heck out of my hammies. I know, I know that's a horrible choice but it's true. I'm kind of in a mental block right now with a lot of things and I think a few days of rest/crosstraining might help---probably not but it's worth a shot;)

David has been getting up and working out in the mornings. It's motivating for me to see him. Yesterday I focused on strengthening my glutes/hips and I felt a lot better on this run. I'm still not as fast I would like but I felt like I could have gone longer and I didn't hurt during this run so that's always a plus!

Lifted weights this morning and decided to run on the treadmill. I didn't have a scheduled run so I only went a mile and then walked some.

Oh the beauty of running with other people!!! I met up with Carolyn, Michelle, Michelle and Allie this morning for a 14 mile run. I loved having other people to talk with and distract me:) It was fun to be on a new route too! I'm excited to keep running with them. I had to run an extra mile to get my miles in for the week. Grant is napping now I'm thinking that would be a great idea for me too;)

My hip flexors are really really sore for some odd reason. Seems like there is always something  funky going on with my body! I was able to push out 4 miles-my shins also started hurting a little and that is never a good sign! I'm hoping to go to the gym tonight and lift, we'll see how the night pans out!

This started out as a decent run but around 7.5 my left ankle just started killing me! We're going out of town tomorrow so I was wanting to get in my long run (12) today but I just had to come home and ice my foot. I'm getting discouraged about this race.
