Run a marathon in 2011 and one day run Boston....I might have to wait until I'm in the 85 year old division to qualify but gosh darn it I will qualify!  

Personal:

 David and I have been married since 2003, we've lived in AZ, UT (BYU, Health Science), WI and now we're back to our roots in CO. We have a little boy, Grant, who was born in 2009. I have never been a runner but like to pretend I am! I'm currently teaching aerobics in my church group and working on becoming a certified Personal Trainer through NASM. 

I'm pretty much obsessed with Full House, DQ Blizzards and Bajio. Sadly I don't have enough of these in my life!

Ok hopefully this works! Well today was my first "real" run in like 3 weeks. I ran 6 miles at the gym and felt really good and (really sweaty) the whole time. I ran an average 10:10-10:20 mile but managed to finish in 62 minutes.

Jodee, you can also go into the blog options and change the tracking settings if you want to just log miles ran, or the Jack Daniels one does track, easy miles, marathon pace, cross training, etc.

Today I lifted 3 sets of 10. I usually do arms, legs, abs, back etc. about 2-3 times a week. I also ran 3 miles 10:01/9:57/9:43. I felt really good as if I could run more but I'm trying to stick to my training schedule and don't want to put too much stress on my body too fast.

Today I ran 4 miles at the fasted pace I have done in like 2 years. I'm starting to think it was a bad idea...my shins are mad at me right now. 9:30/9:06/9:21/9:56. I usually just run on the treadmill because WI is like anti-running trails plus it's just a safety issue. Anyway I want to get out on roads more so that I can train for races. Also I am doing a 5k in July, how do I work on speed without hurting myself? And what is a realistic goal?

I would just worry about getting into a consistent training routine first and then after awhile maybe do some faster stuff. When I come out next week, maybe we can set-up a schedule. It looks like we should be able to fly out on Tuesday or Wednesday. Flying back is going to be a little more challenging. The best flight looks like it is early Sunday morning, if not we might have to check into flying out of Chicago

This morning I ran 5.5 miles on the treadmill at a 10:20 pace. I wanted to stop after mile 2 because my shins were kind of hurting but I decided that they really didn't hurt bad enough to stop. Once I reached mile 3 I felt really good as if I could pick up the pace but I figured I better stick with a slower run and save my legs!

I decided to take the ipod and hit the road for the first time since who knows when. It felt really nice outside and I ran about 15 minutes and then walked for another 20. I'm not sure if I was going faster or slower than I normally do so I'm not quite sure how far I went.

I am super frustrated right now. I just ran 1 mile and about died, my shins are killing me. I decided to train on the elliptical for another 2 miles and that was better but my shins still hurt. I think I'll try to take it easy this week and focus on strength training and biking. Plus my bro's family is coming and I'm sure we'll do a lot of walking around.

Ran 5 miles on treadmill....first 3 miles at 10:31 pace 4th mile at 10:20 then back up to 10:31 for numero cinco. I felt really good as if I could go faster but I also just want to work on distance for right now. I'm in need of a new computer so that I can download some new tunes to the ipod. Took the new bike out for a spin with hubby tonight. We only did about 4 miles because it was starting to get dark.

I told David that I needed to run 2miles tonight and jokingly I asked if he wanted to come. He said sure so we headed outdoors and ended up running over 3 miles. This morning I was NOT feeling like getting out of bed to run outside (after Saturdays run I was done with running forever!) but luckily it was cool outside and I had some fun songs on the ipod. It was actually one of my favorite runs in a long time. I'm thinking about doing a half marathon next weekend instead of this weekend. I think I ran a little over 3 miles this morning. I'm planning on doing the half this Saturday because it starts earlier than the one next weekend and with it being so humid here I figure the earlier the better. Had a late start this morning but managed to fit in 2+ miles. My first mile was in 8:44 and I ran a little over 2 so I'm not quite sure what my splits were. I'm feeling pretty good about keeping my distance between 2-3 right now. I had a doctor's apt today and my doc felt that I should just listen to my body and not push myself...I totally agree. Right now my body is telling me to eat more McDonalds and Dairy Queen....I should probably listen right???
