I am just trying to get better at running and be more consistent.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Run a marathon in 2011 and one day run Boston....I might have to wait until I'm in the 85 year old division to qualify but gosh darn it I will qualify!  

Personal:

 David and I have been married since 2003, we've lived in AZ, UT (BYU, Health Science), WI and now we're back to our roots in CO. We have a little boy, Grant, who was born in 2009. I have never been a runner but like to pretend I am! I'm currently teaching aerobics in my church group and working on becoming a certified Personal Trainer through NASM. 

I'm pretty much obsessed with Full House, DQ Blizzards and Bajio. Sadly I don't have enough of these in my life!

Just not feeling it today. We all got minimal amounts of sleep last night. I've been working on aerobics stuff a lot the last few days. I'm hoping to ride my bike some today and then go to walking group tonight.

I brought Grant with me today. It was a warmer day out so I think he enjoyed it. We're planning on meeting some friends at the park today so I didn't have a lot of time to run. I accidentally pushed some wrong buttons on my garmin so I'm not quite sure what my times were.

Trying to take advantage of the clear roads before winter really hits! Felt a little sluggish most of the time but just happy to be out doing something healthy. My right shin kind of hurt but felt better as the run went on. I still can't believe it's December! Working on aerobics stuff today and then walking group tonight.

I can't believe how warm it is! I took Grant to the park today and considered taking off his coat! I'm loving this, it doesn't feel like Christmas which is a bummer but I'm happy with the fact I can still get out!

Windy windy run today. It felt good to get out but man I sure felt sluggish and tired. I've been really enjoying my PT stuff (if only I could eat like a real personal trainer!) and I'm hoping all this new info will help me run and train better.

Let the marathon training begin. Well hopefully! I'm wanting to attempt the SLC marathon in April...just trying to figure out the money and travel issues....ah I'll worry about that later. I felt strong on my run today. It's weird how on my "sluggish" days and my "strong" days I still manage a poor pace. Such luck!Temps in the 60s and a little windy towards the end but I really enjoyed being on the snowless streets! I'm going to look at running shoes this weekend, holla!

Day 2 of training. Felt better about my run today. I need to focus on my eating habits. I think that's part of the reason I am not as fast as I'd like to be.

Today was a busy busy day so I decided to push my run back to tomorrow. My father in-law came into town earlier than expected today and offered to watch Grant while I went running. Good thing-it was FREEZING outside. Windy and the sun was starting to go down, bad combo! I felt like I needed to hurry and get back before the little spawn destroyed too much. I actually really enjoyed this run.

Shopping spree in the Luke household! I went an bought a new pair of running shoes. I'm kind of debating my choice but hopefully they'll be okay. I got some New Balance running shoes....we'll see. We also bought a new camera that was a steal of a deal! I'm pretty excited to actually be able to take pictures of my little runner himself!

On to the run...my shins started to hurt (wearing my old shoes) around 4.5 so I stretched for a little and they seemed to be fine. I wish wish wish I could get faster. I'm just glad that I'm not totally wiped out when my run is over. I think I'm nervous to speed up for fear of injury. Anyway here's to week 1 of my marathon training!
