Long-Term Running Goals:

Run a marathon in 2011 and one day run Boston....I might have to wait until I'm in the 85 year old division to qualify but gosh darn it I will qualify!  

Personal:

 David and I have been married since 2003, we've lived in AZ, UT (BYU, Health Science), WI and now we're back to our roots in CO. We have a little boy, Grant, who was born in 2009. I have never been a runner but like to pretend I am! I'm currently teaching aerobics in my church group and working on becoming a certified Personal Trainer through NASM. 

I'm pretty much obsessed with Full House, DQ Blizzards and Bajio. Sadly I don't have enough of these in my life!

went on a family walk for 2 miles this morning and then i ran another 3 WITHOUT the stroller. it was so nice!

We went up to Craig for a few days. The elevation is a little higher and there were some hills toward the end of my run. I was really dreading doing this run but felt great after.

Ran around Cleveland UT and had 2 random dogs run with me! The town basically has 2 streets but I somehow managed to get lost!

walked 2 miles this morning with david and grant. they came home and i ran another 2. it was getting pretty warm out already and i must have not had enough for breakfast because i was just sluggish, still happy i went out though!

Felt super sluggish today. I'm supposed to run 5 miles tomorrow, I think I need to wake up earlier and head out before it's too hot!

 Went to a little b-day party at the park today, Grant would rather run around by himself than play with the kids on the slides and swings. I guess I can understand that! The only time he was close by was when they busted out the cupcakes! Once again, I think I can relate!

This was a bad run from the beginning. My garmin wouldn't start up very good so that put me back a few minutes. I was having stomach issues most of the run and actually had to make a stop in McD's! My left  knee was starting to hurt around 3.5 and I had to walk .10 on the last mile. I felt tight and sluggish during most of the run. I always seem to have too high of goals and end up not being able to train. ex. I want to run a 10k in a few weeks and a half in Oct but I'm realizing that maybe I'm not quite ready. I wish I could fly to CA or some place warm during Nov/Dec because I think I could run a race during that time. Oh well, I'll just keep trying to do my best and listen to my body.

Oh I love that the temps are cooling down and fall is on it's way!!! I took Grant with me this morning so David could try to sleep some more. I set out to do 3, somehow got a little lost and ended up doing 3.5. Once I could see I was still a little ways from home I decided that since I felt fine I should try for 4 miles. It was an enjoyable run-even though my earphones are busted so I basically could only hear the bass line and back up singers of each song. I hate spending money to replace things I already own. Oh well, it's worth it to have music to distract me right?

Will I ever get faster??? Ugh! My right shin was acting funny around 2.5 but then felt fine again. Weird. When we got home David and I did our new workout dvd. BL Last Chance Workout. It's tough but I love it!

I set out to do 2 with the hopes of 2.5, I ended up running 3. I felt pretty good. Oh and my earphones are busted so I had to run with David's. Looks like I'll be making a new purchase today!

Woke up early and got my run in. It feels so nice to just have it done and out of the way. David was awake too so it was nice that he was able to watch Grant and I didn't have to push that jumbo stroller. This was a difficult run for me to get into. I'm not sure what was wrong- tired/hungry/thirsty etc. I've been wanting to run a race but it's days like this that make me think I need more of a solid base to start with before I really train. Maybe by this fall I'll feel ready for something, as of now I just want to enjoy running rather than feel like I have to get out there.

Late start today but overall a very enjoyable short run. I had more energy today, I think eating breakfast and the 2.5 mile family walk before my run really helped.

I'm realizing how much I like to eat breakfast before a run! I also see why a warm-up is important. This run was actually really enjoyable. I have two walking routes that I combined to make a 5 mile route. Around mile 4 I felt like I could probably run 6 miles. My left shin started to hurt at 4.75 but not to the point I couldn't finish. I decided to just stop at 5 and have an enjoyable run rather than force myself to complete 6 miles.

Beginning to feel like fall! Kind of a late start but these cooler temps made it doable. Still not too fast. 32:09. I'm needing some new shoes, I need extra support so I always end up getting the exact same pair. Oh well!
